Built of one solid piece of clay, the Sanctuary Collection allude to the precious need of all living things to have a place of safety, a place of refuge and wellbeing - a sanctuary.
The fine white clay was textured using the delicate foliage of the Maidenhair Fern, leaving behind a fragile imprint on the clay in stark contrast to the solidity of this object. The clay was then cut and hollowed out creating an internal hidden space.
It is about finding that fine balance between the elements, but always about reaching a place of safety.
