Statement Stud Earrings: responsibly sourced sterling silver and two ethically sourced 2.65ct (5.3ct combined) Brazilian prasiolite.

These one-of-a-kind stud earrings are part of the For Maria Primachenko Collectionwhich celebrates Ukrainian culture, traditions and people. They are handmade using the ancient lost wax casting method and feature stunning ethically sourced square cut prasiolite gemstones (also known as green amethyst).

The earrings’ design is inspired by the ribbons of a vinok. The vinok is a Ukrainian flower wreath (crown) made from woven fragrant herbs, delicate flowers and colourful ribbons. It is endowed with symbolic meanings and has been worn for centuries by girls and women at festivals and weddings.

Ribbons was exhibited in Queensland’s Parliament House in 2022 as a showcase of Queensland’s artistic excellence, curated by artisan Gallery. This piece was also selected for artisan Collects (2022), a collaborative initiative between Malki Studio and artisan Gallery that invited collectors to explore jewellery as an art form.
