Brooch: responsibly sourced sterling silver, repurposed ammonite fossil, repurposed created opal.

This amuletic brooch is intended as a contemporary take on the ancient and ubiquitous motif of the evil eye. It marks the ongoing need for psychological protection from malevolent forces that remain prevalent in the modern world. While in the past these evil forces may have been understood as supernatural, today they may be thought of inherently systemic—the unjust machinations of the monolithic orders of power that control our world (patriarchy, capitalism, etc.).

Dimensions: 9.5cm x 7cm x 2cm.

*Please note that the titanium pin that fastens this brooch is 1.5mm thick and therefore works best on looser woven fabrics such as linen or wool.
