Citrine is a golden variety of mineral quartz that has been treasured as a gift from the sun since antiquity.

Coloured by iron, it features a warm glow that ranges from lemony yellow to Madeira, a rich orange colour with red flashes.

Citrine is a durable stone with a Mohs scale value of 7 thus making it suitable for all jewellery applications.

In history, the stone was desired by many including the Ancient Greek, Ancient Egyptians and Ancient Romans who fashioned the stone into talismans, believing that citrine could promote serenity, prosperity and aid in the manifestation of desires.

Owing to its physical toughness and desirable colour, citrine remains a popular gemstone today.

Stud Earrings: responsibly sourced sterling silver and emerald cut citrines.

The date palm is a frequently honoured symbol that has long been a sign of prosperity in the Middle East. It appears in the religious text of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. To the Greeks and Romans it symbolised victory and to the Egyptians fertility. The stylized date palm’s design used in these bright and graceful earrings is inspired by the Half Shekel coin of the Jewish Commonwealth 69-70 CE (minted during the First Revolt ) which depicts a palm tree flanked by two harvest baskets.

Inspired by our exquisite subtropical coastline, the Barolin Rocks necklace pays tribute to our precious shoreline, with hope that it remains secluded, pristine, and protected for decades to come. The ceramic and metal components of this necklace were all handmade in Bargara by Malki Studio artist Ariella Anderson. The stunning 32 carat citrine in this necklace evokes the dramatic sunset, which accentuates the deep blue waters and black volcanic rocks of the region in which Malki Studio artists live and work. The Barolin Rocks necklace is a distinguished artwork, and has been displayed in several exhibitions including in Government House, where it formed part of a showcase of Queensland's artistic excellence.

Statement Stud Earrings: Responsibly sourced sterling silver, two ethically sourced 4.1ct pear-cut Brazilian citrines (8.2ct combined).

These bold statement earrings, named after Maria Primachenko’s Sun-Bird, Rye and Wheat painting, are part of the For Maria Primachenko Collection which celebrates Ukrainian culture. They feature silver wheat ears that curve along the outer border of large pear-cut golden citrines.

Wheat is a staple crop of Ukraine and is a symbol of fertility, abundance and prosperity. It has been a frequently honoured symbol in Ukrainian culture and in traditions such as Pysanka Easter egg decorating and Didukh making, a Christmas decoration and straw talisman. The wheat in these traditions mark the household’s wish for abundance, good health and good harvest.

Sun-Bird, Rye and Wheat was exhibited in Queensland’s Parliament House in 2022 as a showcase of Queensland’s artistic excellence, curated by artisan Gallery. This piece was also selected for artisan Collects (2022), a collaborative initiative between Malki Studio and artisan Gallery that invited collectors to explore jewellery as an art form.
